Zlata Gvozdenov, PhD is an experienced scientist and entrepreneur with a proven track record in molecular life sciences (genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, proteomics, bioinformatics) and business administration (entrepreneurial finance, startup economics). With over 13 years of experience in genomics and over 16 years in biotechnology, she has successfully led numerous projects, ranging from institutional fundamental biotechnology research and applied sciences to small, independent biotechnology enterprises.
Prior to expanding Zlatomics, Zlata held positions at Moderna, Harvard Medical School, and the University of Illinois. She earned her PhD from the Technical University of Munich in Germany, where she was a DAAD-scholarship holder, and is currently completing her Executive MBA, with graduation expected in June 2026.
Zlata is a recognized expert in molecular life sciences and some of her academic research has been documented in publications. While at Harvard, she was a recipient of the National Research Service Award and a Merck Fellowship. Zlata secured Angel Investor Funding for Zlatomics to advance a proprietary biotech product addressing healthcare industry needs.
